Get ready, get set, BRAND! Logo design is so important for your businesses. Your brand is your mark. It’s what (hopefully) will imprint itself on your customer and potential customers. It’s worth the investment to make sure your “foundation” of design is strong. How else can the rest of your materials shine when your logo looks like it was thrown together with clip art? From business cards to t shirts, you should plan on it being used as often as you imagine it being out there, so don’t skip or skimp on this vital element of your businesses identity.
This is one of those things that I also love to do. It’s the ground floor, even if it’s a rebrand. If you work with me, you’ll hear me talk about “good bones”. Nothing is more true than a good logo. It’s the bones of everything else you do. When you are looking for a logo designer, you should evaluate what kind of artwork they produce. If it’s something generic with clip art attached, while it may seem cheap, it’s not a good way to start off. Why do all that hard work only to skimp on the most important element of your visual identity?
Additionally, a good logo designer will consider you, your market, and how you’re going to use the design. Many logo designs were not developed with the thinking that they might get used in medium such as a vinyl for a sign. Or the designer got caught up in a fad font and used it for a bank. The design should stay away from being trendy, unless being trendy is part of your business marketing strategy. There are a number of considerations that a logo designer will take into account so that the investment you make in your brand is valuable.
I have worked with large corporations and small businesses not only here in Austin, but in a number of cities around the country. But a good identity design is crucial, no matter your location to the success of your marketing plan.
